Ancient Persia is depicted in a brand-new Assassin’s Creed Infinity Unreal Engine 5 fan concept trailer. The artist and YouTuber “TeaserPlay” has been making a lot of fan concept films for well-known games using Epic’s new game engine.

In June, the YouTuber already debuted a concept trailer for Assassins Creed Infinity set in Japan. Two months later, the artist has just published a concept video with a similar theme. This time, though, the concept film transports viewers to ancient Persia to reveal the Hashashins’ earliest history.

Historical sites like Persepolis, Cyrus the Great’s tomb, Pasargad, and Boston were reconstructed for the film. The main character was based on the 2016 film Assassins Creed’s Aguilar de Nerha, a master assassin and mentor of the Spanish Brotherhood of Assassins.

The video makes use of Epic’s brand-new Lumen lighting technology and Nanite virtualized geometry system.

Creative leads for Assassins Creed Infinity will be a cross-studio collaboration, as well. Jonathan Dumont and Clint Hocking will share leadership as creative directors, overseeing their respective teams at Ubisoft Quebec and Ubisoft Montreal. Dumont was previously world director on Assassins Creed Syndicate at Ubisoft Quebec before becoming a creative director on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Meanwhile, this moment marks Hocking’s return to Ubisoft Montreal, having started at the studio in 2001 as a level designer, game designer, and scriptwriter on the original Splinter Cell before becoming a creative director on Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Far Cry 2, and most recently Watch Dogs: Legion.

Like earlier UE5 fan presentations, it’s worth watching. However, it is important to keep in mind that this is only a fan project and in no way represents an official release from Ubisoft. It should also be mentioned that Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed games use the Anvil game engine.
