    Thor Love and Thunder Cast: Will Anthony Hopkins be Back as Odin?

    With 2022’s onset, fans are gearing up for the release of the most anticipated Thor Love and Thunder and there are already tons of speculations and thoughts spread across. At this point, all we have are imaginations and ideas but from the hints of leaked set images from shooting, it’s not impossible to imagine Anthony Hopkins playing Odin onscreen for the last time.

    However, the question stays regarding his portrayal, after Odin succumbed in Thor: Ragnarok. Stretching a bit and going back, we would memorize scenes where Odin turns up to Thor (portrayed by the dashing Chris Hemsworth) and assists him to beat his sister Hela (portrayed by the spectacular Cate Blanchett). Hence, the possibility of Odin’s cameo in the film can’t be entered wiped out. Especially there is a complete thing about the hammer being transferred on to a fresh person, that appears to be deemed worthy!

    Anthony Hopkins Almost Quit Acting Before Odin

    In a recently launched book The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of The Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hopkins has revealed that he was about to quit acting before getting the offer to play Odin from director Kenneth Branagh, and it lighted his joy for acting one more time. He talked about how Branagh gave him the “chops” to work and how working with that man worked to be an “injection of energy” in his life.

    Thanks to the leaked photos that fans have an idea they will see a memorial for the legendary Odin in New Asgard with Sam Neil reprising his role as an Asgardian actor displaying Odin in a play. Matt Demon and Luke Hemsworth will join him, portraying versions of Thor and Loki with Melissa McCarthy portraying Hela. The audience is cheered up to see a recreation of some vital moments from Thor: Ragnarok in which Odin has a crucial part.

    Thor Love and Thunder Release Date

    The movie is dated to release on July 8, 2022. The Taika Waititi directed movie casts Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and the new bearer of Mjölnir. Fans will also witness the return of Guardians of Galaxy and Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif. As for the lead antagonist part, we have Christian Bale displaying Gorr the God Butcher. Any confirmation regarding Tom Hiddleston’s return as Loki is yet to be announced.
