Blizzard has revealed that the upcoming Overwatch 2 Season 5 update will include a buff for Support hero Lifeweaver and a nerf for Tank hero Junker Queen. Season 4 of Overwatch 2 is finally coming to an end, which means Season 5 is just around the corner.

While full Overwatch 2 Season 5 patch notes are not yet available, Blizzard has revealed a roadmap for its hero shooter that provides fans with a solid sense of what to anticipate from the upcoming season.

Season 5 of Overwatch 2 will include the launch of the Questwatch limited-time event, Mischief & Magic, a new cinematic, the Summer Games event, Creator Workshop mode, a 5v5 mini comp season, and the long-awaited return of On Fire.

As is customary, the new season will bring some adjustments to the Overwatch 2 roster, with balancing updates planned for some characters, including Junker Queen and Lifeweaver.

Junker Queen’s health from her Commanding Shout ability has been reduced from 200 to 150 as of Season 5, and it will take her a little longer to acquire her Ultimate ability. Meanwhile, Lifeweaver is getting a makeover in Season 5.

Specifics will have to wait, but Keller has stated that the character’s healing and damage output would be improved. Life Grip and Petal Platform will also be updated, and Lifeweaver will have “a slightly reduced hitbox.”

Keller’s blog article focused primarily on Junker Queen and Lifeweaver, but it also mentioned one-shot characters, notably Overwatch 2 snipers Widowmaker and Hanzo. Overwatch 2 has made an effort to remove the ability of characters to one-shot each other, therefore it will be more difficult for Hanzo and Widowmaker to take out opponents with a single hit starting with Season 5. Beyond 50 meters, Widowmaker will no longer be able to one-shot 200 health heroes. Hanzo, on the other hand, will no longer be able to one-shot 250 health heroes.
