Marcus Rashford has been having a glorious season so far, and here’s another milestone achieved by him. On Wednesday night, Rashford matched an amazing record held by the English great Wayne Rooney for 11 years.

The striker hit in the nets during a 2-2 tie for United at home with Leeds, continuing to score for the sixth consecutive game in Premier League at Old Trafford.

Previously, Rooney had achieved this feat when he scored against Everton in April 2012 during a sensational 4-4 draw.

United’s own little bid took a crucial hit on Wednesday in the game against Leeds after they were able to take a point. But with Marcus Rashford’s goal, it emerged to be a comeback, with Eric ten Hag’s squad 2-0 down after a first-minute blow from Wilfried Gnonto and an owl goal just after the match resumed from half-time from Raphael Varane.

Rashford glittered his higher jump to meet the cross from Diogo Dalot to score the goal just after an hour before Jadon Sancho scored the equalizer with 20 minutes to go.

With that goal, Rashford completed his 20th  goal of the season across all competitions, which includes 11 from 22 top-flight games. The 25-year-old striker started his scoring streak back in October in the match against West Ham. Since then, he has scored against Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Manchester City, and Crystal Palace too.

Rashford has been impressive outside the home as well. Since the restart of domestic action after the Qatar World Cup finals in December, he has found the net in all except one of United’s Premier League matches.

    What did Ten Hag say?

    Ten Hag said,

“He’s all the way back. I’m proud he did it. I’m backing him, the coaches are backing him, the team is backing him, but he has to do it by himself.”

Hag further added that it’s in his hands, and if he wants it, he’ll be able to accomplish it. He’s proud of seeing Rashford so brilliantly with ample confidence. Hag even said that all of them know about his magnificence and that his consistency has been incredible. He believes he’ll need to work hard and can even have a bigger impact on the team. Hag talked about him enjoying Rashford’s game and said it would strengthen the striker too.
