Reports state that Julian Nagelsmann is the leading contender to replace Graham Potter as the new Chelsea manager. Graham Potter was sacked on Sunday after the club’s American owners finally lost faith in their first managerial appointment. The former Bayern Munich head coach is among the top contenders regarding this job, and sources also state that contact has already been made to Julian Nagelsmann through intermediaries.

Chelsea might struggle in persuading the 35-year-old to take a job so soon after his sacking at Bayern 10 days ago; however, Julian Nagelsmann, who is sought by Tottenham Hotspur too as a replacement for Antonio Conte, is viewed by several at Stamford Bridge as the leading candidate for the job.

Julian Nagelsmann likely to secure the role

Earlier, before Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochetinno was available for the position, too, following Thomas Tuchel’s sacking in September. However, this was overlooked by Chelsea, and they eventually appointed Potter.

However, the club has been considering Potter’s future for a number of weeks following a dreadful Premier League season, and it was somehow a hanging-in-the-balance situation, as some believed that Potter wasn’t the right man to get the hold of the club, while others believed that he deserved to prove a little longer. However, with he being sacked from the role, Negalsmann has popped up in the picture and is likely to take in-charge soon.

Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali on Graham Potter

The co-controlling owners of the club, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, said that on behalf of everyone at the club they want to thank Graham sincerely for his contribution to Chelsea. They have the highest degree of respect for Graham as a coach as well as a person. He has always conducted himself with professionalism as well as integrity, and they are all disappointed in this outcome.
