The defending champions Gujarat Titans have defeated Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural match of the IPL 2023 and have started their season on a high note. Not only them, but a good game of cricket from both sides has set the tone of the tournament, and fans are expecting to see several banging knocks throughout the tournament. Both the teams did well though it was the Gujarat Titans who achieved the victory over the Super Kings by 5 wickets, with 4 balls left.

    The Match

The match started with the GT skipper Hardik Pandya winning the toss and electing to bowl first. During CSK’s batting, though wickets were falling in frequent intervals from one end, youngster Ruturaj Gaikwad was firing the bowlers from another end. He played a magnificent knock of 92 of 50 balls which consisted of 9 sixes and 4 fours, with a strike rate of 184. However, none of the other batsmen could stand till long; thanks to his knock, CSK at least reached a good total of 178 on this batting pitch.

Gujarat Titans, when it came to batting, were in attacking mode, with Wriddhiman Saha and Shubhman Gill giving a good start to their team. Gill’s innings of 63 of 36 balls definitely played the most important role in their win, along with the small innings of others. However, the match seemed quite difficult at the end, but Rashid Khan’s one-six and a four along with Rahul Tewatia’s six helped the Titans to secure the win with ease.
