The football season in Europe is in full swing, with clubs all across the continent doing everything they can to ensure that they are crowned champions at the end of the season. However, as is customary, a few players have stood out when compared to the rest, and we’ve compiled a list of the top five attacking trios in Europe.
Lewandowski (25), Gnabry (8), Sane (8): 41 goals
Bayern Munich has probably been Europe’s best club in terms of trophies in previous seasons, and they have continued in that vein this season.
With Robert Lewandowski, Serge Gnabry, and Leroy Sane combining for 41 goals in all competitions so far this season, the German giants have the finest front three in Europe. The Polish striker, who many thought deserved to win the Ballon d’Or this year, has been the leading goalscorer, scoring 25 of the 41 goals scored.
Salah (19), Mane (9), Jota (9): 37 goals
Liverpool have established themselves as one of the finest clubs in Europe under Jurgen Klopp, and Mohamed Salah is perhaps the best player in the world right now. Salah leads the Reds front three in goals scored in all competitions with 19, while Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota both have nine.
Benzema (17), Vinicius Jr (12), Asensio (4): 33 goals
Real Madrid has had a small revival this season under Carlo Ancelotti, and at the heart of it is Karim Benzema, who has been superb, as evidenced by his 17 goals this season. With 12 goals this season, Vinicius Jr has matured, while Marco Asensio has also contributed four goals.
Schick (12), Wirtz (8), Diaby (8): 28 goals
Bayer Leverkusen had an incredible season in 2012/13, finishing third in the Bundesliga table, and they owe it all to Patrik Schick, Florian Wirtz, and Diaby, who combined for 28 goals up front. It’ll be intriguing to see if the trio can keep up their good work as the season goes on.
Immobile (16), Pedro (6), Milinko-Savic (5): 27 goals
Lazio may be in ninth place in Serie A, but that does not take away from their attacking prowess, with Ciro Immobile, Pedro, and Milinko-Savic combining for 27 goals so far this season. Immobile, who won the European Golden Shoe in the 2019/20 season, has been a key player for the club this season, scoring 16 goals.
