TCL claims its wearable display will be available in Australia in July for AUD 899 (about USD 680), with more markets to follow. The company promoted the concept for a few years and showed it off at virtual CES earlier this year. It’s known as the NxtWear G by TCL. However, it’s not a VR or AR gadget in its current form.

Instead, it serves as an external display for your smartphone or laptop, featuring two 1080p Micro OLED screens that simulate a 140-inch display.

The wearable display is compatible with USB-C DisplayPort. It is enabled in phones, tablets,  and computers, including current MacBooks, iPad Pros, and Samsung S21 series phones. The glasses connect to your device through Bluetooth and show content on a 16:9 screen in front of your eyes.

TCL advises using wireless earbuds or a headset instead of the supplied cable, which weighs 130g (4.6oz). Stereo speakers are incorporated into the frames. However, TCL recommends using wireless earphones or a headset.

TCL is unveiling a new screen-sharing feature for its smartphones dubbed Multi-Screen Collaboration. Among other worldwide announcements timed for Mobile World Congress. It will initially only operate with the 20 Pro 5G and let users wirelessly exchange files, pictures, clipboard content, and messages with a Windows 10 laptop or PC.

Photos and movies from the phone can also be sent to a TCL TV. The phone functions as a touchpad in this mode, allowing you to navigate a pointer across the TV screen to choose photos or videos to play. The functionality will be added to the TCL 20 Pro 5G. This is via a software update in the coming months, according to TCL.
