Capcom debuts a new Street Fighter 6 trailer at The Game Awards, confirming a slew of new details such as characters like Dee Jay, stages, and the long-awaited release date. Capcom is still on a high after revealing Street Fighter 6 earlier this year. Switching to the RE Engine, Street Fighter 6 surprised fans with an all-new aesthetic that included familiar characters who had aged a little more than fans had come to anticipate.

Tons of fresh facts about Street Fighter 6 have continued to emerge online over the last two months, thanks to new trailers and the closed beta test.

Fans got a first glimpse at redesigned characters like Luke and Ken, as well as brand-new originals like Kimberly and Jamie. For the first time in the Street Fighter series, gamers may build their character, explore Metro City, and face off against adversaries. The main issue for many was when fans would finally be able to get their hands on the game.

Thankfully, thanks to a brand-new teaser that appeared at The Game Awards, that question has now been answered. The teaser was jam-packed with new information, including the confirmed Street Fighter 6 release date of June 2, 2022. While the teaser was intriguing enough on its own, it also gave fans a new look at levels set in places like Metro City and France, as well as some of the mini-games that can be played, including the traditional basketball parry that Third Strike gamers will undoubtedly remember.

The trailer also confirmed other Street Fighter 6 characters that have surfaced since the game’s first launch. Dee Jay, the classic fighter, returns alongside three new characters: the graceful dancer Manon, Marisa, who is surrounded by what appear to be Roman Legionnaires on her stage, and the mysterious power-wielding JP. Their critical art moves are displayed near the end of the trailer, adding a little flair to their superpowers.

While fans will have to wait until the game is released, Capcom has announced a second closed beta test that will begin on December 16 and go through the weekend. Those who participated in the initial test will be automatically invited, and additional participants will be chosen at random if they signed up on the official website.

Street Fighter 6 launches in 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
