South Africa has been in the form of their life in this World Cup, and this is getting reflected again and again in almost each and every game of theirs. Their batting has been especially destructive as they are putting up a huge score almost every time they are batting first. This is primarily putting pressure on the opposition, eventually helping the bowlers to perform well and defeating their opposition by a huge margin. The same thing happened in their encounter against Bangladesh, where they defeated them by 149 runs.

    South Africa dominating Bangladesh

South Africa came to bat first. Though they started slow, they eventually started to increase the gear and put up a mammoth score of 382 in 50 overs. Quinton de Kock, who has been in a humongous form and also playing his last World Cup, registered his 3rd century in the game and eventually scored 174 in only 140 balls with 15 fours and 7 sixes.

South African skipper Aiden Markram also played a decent knock of 60 of 69 balls, and the man who completely snatched the game from Bangladesh’s hands is Heinrich Klassen, who scored a magnificent 90 of only 49 balls with two fours and 8 sixes with a strike rate of 183.67. Also, David Miller played a speedy 34 of 15 deliveries, which helped South Africa to reach a total of nearly 400 on the board.

Bangladesh coming to bat didn’t able to put up any partnerships, and South Africa continued to take wicked on frequent intervals. However, despite the collapse of the Bangladeshi batters, the only batter from their team who stood strong was Mahmudullah, who scored a heroic 111 of 111 with 11 fours and 4 sixes. However, despite the heroic efforts of the Bangladeshi cricketer, the team got all out in 233.

Brilliant performance by South Africa in this tournament

As mentioned, South Africa has been in the form of their life, especially their batting department, which has been hugely destructive. It is to be seen how their performance goes against India, who are the hosts of the tournament and still are the top contenders to win this year’s World Cup. They defeated another good contender, New Zealand, but the match between India and South Africa at the iconic Eden Gardens is really a thing to witness.

However, irrespective of the result of the match, both teams have proved that they are indeed deserving to win the World Cup. It is to be seen what happens next.
