When Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Dread Factor was released on May 30, 2023, it brought with it a slew of additional content. This event continues the seasonal tradition of map upgrades and quality-of-life improvements. Fenrir, a two-health and two-speed defender with tonnes of traps, is the most crucial addition.

In Rainbow Six Siege the operator is armed with five F-NATT Dread Mines, which can instill terror in trackers by temporarily obstructing their eyesight, allowing Fenrir and his colleagues to go in for the kill. While this technology is certainly unusual, the most intriguing aspect of Fenrir is his backstory and why his name is based on Norse mythology.

Following the Brazilian 3-speed attacker Brava, Fenrir is the 68th operator to be added to Rainbow Six Siege.

Emil Svensson was born in Uppsala, Sweden. His parents enrolled him in science lessons here to enhance his talent in animal biology. While his brilliance placed him on track to register in his local institution, he was drafted into the military before he could even begin.

During his service, he researched neurochemistry and continued his studies when he joined the Swedish Armed Forces. He was discharged, though, for promoting the use of an emotion-altering substance on soldiers. This led Fenrir down a path appropriate for his codename.

In terms of mythology, Deimos and Fenrir are named after deities from the Greek and Norse pantheons, respectively. The former is the god of horror and fear, while the latter is a monstrous wolf created by Loki, the god of mischief. As a result, it’s only natural that Deimos would recruit someone who specializes in generating fear poisons.

In Rainbow Six Siege Fenrir’s narrative may resemble that of his mythological counterpart. He soon discovered that Deimos intended to utilize his technology for terrorism. Fenrir even saw Deimos experiment on his coworkers with an unstable version of his fear poison. As a result, he fled the facility and sought safety among the Rainbows in the Rainbow Six Siege.
