    Mbappe reveals the reason for turning down Real Madrid earlier in his career

    Real Madrid are interested in Kylian Mbappe for a long time. The 2018 World Cup winner is one of the brightest prospects in world football.

    Spanish giants Real Madrid wanted to sign him way back in 2014 and was really close to complete the deal.

    Mbappe visited Real Madrid’s facilities. He also met with his idol Cristiano Ronaldo but later decided to stay in France. He has now revealed the reason for turning down Real Madrid.

    Mbappe revealed during an interview with L’Obs, via Marca: “My parents wanted me to start my career in France, to be educated in France,”

    “To play football, but also to continue my education. To go to Spain, even if it was with Zidane, it was another country, another culture…”

    “I always want to set myself challenges, because that allows you not to relax.”

    “Being on the pitch feeds me, it’s how I recharge. Thanks to that, I have the energy to face the other aspects of football.”

    “At the beginning it was hard to carry that weight, because I was so young.”

    “I was an 18- to 19-year-old who loved to do 18- to 19-year-old things. But, on the pitch, I was asked to be an adult.”
