PSG star Lionel Messi and Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets have been the key interest for the Major League Soccer side Inter Miami in the ongoing season. Speculations are high that Barcelona teammates will have a reunion again in the US.
Davis Beckham ensures Messi will move to MLS
Recent reports suggest that David Beckham has confirmed that Messi and Sergio will have a shift to MLS next season.
While Barcelona is up for keeping hold of Busquests, PSG is up for tying down Lionel Messi with a new deal. However, Phil Neville, the Inter manager, hasn’t ruled out the possibility of the club signing both contracts.
To quote Neville of what he said to the Times:
“We want to bring the best players in the world to this football club. Messi and Busquets are the two that have stood out more in recent years. They’re great players who would still greatly benefit this organization. For MLS, it would be a game changer.”
Adding further insights on Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets, Neville said,
“I’m not going to deny it and say there isn’t truth in the speculation that was interested in Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets. Since I joined Miami, I think we have been linked with every single top player in world football.”
Not the only one in the race
Inter will not be the only team to be interested in signing Messi, and there’ll be competitors. However, Neville believes,
“From Sergio Ramos, Dani Alves, Robert Lewandowski, Willian, Cesc Fabregas, Luis Suarez, all of them you can rattle off. We’re always going to be linked with the best players in the world. We had Gonzalo Higuain and Blaisi Matuidi. Now we have got the opportunity to bring in some new designated players following their retirements.”
