IPL 2023 mini-auction is a few days away. Sam Curran who showed an awe-inspiring performance in T20 World Cup 2022 is now in high demand. He’s on the “most wanted” list of Chennai Super Kings. The team is desperate to bring him back to the team as he can replace Dwayne Bravo perfectly. Former CSK skipper Dhoni instructed the team management to go for him no matter how huge the amount will be.
Earlier, the all-rounder was part of the CSK army in 2020 and 2021. He played a total of 23 games. Dhoni believes that the 24-year-old can fill the gap of Bravo.
‘With Bravo not around anymore, Curran should be the team overseas quick feels team management and especially Dhoni. He can bowl at the death and also chip in with the bat lower down the order’,- A source close to CSK revealed
Chennai Super Kings picked him for 5.5 crores in 2020. Curran was awarded the Man of the series in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 and is one of the major contributors to England’s victory. Another reason is that CSK wand to keep its Group the same. Curran previously had a successful campaign with CSK and for which the franchise is interested to buy him once again. Dwayne Bravo has been appointed as the bowling coach of the team as he retired from IPL.
Chennai Super Kings had the worst season in 2022. They would try to make a strong comeback next year. Though there were rumors of Ravindra Jadeja being traded with another franchise the team management kept him. MS Dhoni is going to lead the team once again but the management has to soon find someone who’ll be good enough to take the responsibility. They have 20.45 crores, having seven slots including two slots available for overseas players.
