England achieved yet another feat by defeating Pakistan in a 3-0 Test series. The English are the first team to beat Pakistan on their own ground by 3-0. Under Ben Stokes, England won nine out of ten tests. Duckett and Stokes did the finishing as they needed to chase 167 from 112.
The visitors won their first Test in Rawalpindi by 74 runs and the second one in Multan by 26 runs. Interestingly, this was the first tour of Pakistan since 2005.
Four batters like ZakCrawley, Ollie Pope, Harry Brook, and Duckett smashed hundreds on the first day of this Test series. Stokes proved to be a spectacular captain as he gave Pakistan a 343-run target in Rawalpindi. Shaheen Afridi got ruled out before this series due to his knee injury. Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah couldn’t play the last two games due to their fitness problems.
Pakistan has major collapses as they lost their last six wickets for 108 in the first innings in Karachi and seven for 52. This defeat also means that Pakistan lost four Tests in a row. Earlier, they were defeated by Australia in March.
Duckett smashed his 12th boundary off the last boundary off the fast bowler Mohammad Wasim that sealing the win on the last day on 170-2 With nine wins, in the last ten matches, England adopted the “Bazball” approach after their coach’s nickname, Brendon McCullum.
McCullum and Ben Stokes took the charge of the team after they faced a 4-0 humiliation in the Ashes in Australia. England played aggressively from the start of the Pakistan tour as they smashed 506-4 that even set a record of “most team runs” on the first day of a Test match.
Captain Stokes has been brilliant throughout the campaign and the way England achieved its victory after 17 years is commendable.
