    ICC emerging women cricketers: Renuka Singh and Yastika Bhatia nominated from India

    The ICC like every year revealed the nominees for emerging women cricketers in 2022. Indian players Renuka Singh and Yastika Bhatia are on the list. Both the players gave a world-class performance this year. Along with these two, Australian cricketer Darcie Brown and Alice Capsey from England were also shortlisted.

    1. Renuka Singh- India

    Renuka Singh from India scalped 40 wickets in T20I and ODI. She has become one of the core members of the Indian cricket team. She played an important role as India won the silver medal after being defeated by Australia at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022. She had an economy rate of 6.50 which shows her accuracy in T20. She is considered to be the perfect replacement for Jhulan Goswami who recently retired.

    2. Yastika Bhatia- India

    Yastika Bhatia had a 130-run partnership with Mithali Raj at Eden Park against Australia. It was one of the best innings of her career. She has given consistent performances in ODI and amassed 376 at a strike rate of 73.29. She is a dependable performer in ODI and made the middle order for India very strong with her skills. Before she smashed the fifties against Australia and Bangladesh, she scored 41 and 31 in the World Cup.

    3. Darcie Brown- Australia

    Aussie player Darcie Brown scalped 24 international wickets and had 12 T20I wickets, 10 ODI wickets, and two Test wickets. Her contribution helped Australia win the trophy in the World Cup as she had a three-wicket haul against India and New Zealand.

    4. Alice Capsey- England

    The last player to be nominated for this category is English cricketer Alice Capsey. She amassed 234 runs in t20I at a good strike rate of 127.86 and scalped one wicket. She also amassed 80 runs in ODI at a strike rate of 94.11 for the Three Lions. Her best performance was against South Africa as she smashed seven fours and a six to reach 50 runs in 37 deliveries.
