    Girona wins the promotion playoff and returns to La Liga

    Girona fell short of promotion in their last two seasons, however, the Catalan club has managed to make it back to the top flight of Spanish football, i.e., in La Liga on Sunday, They ended a three-year spell in the Spanish second division.
