    Confirmed: BCCI will discuss Women’s IPL and ICC representative selection in the AGM held on October 18

    The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already the Annual General Meetings notifications to its state associations. It will be taking place in Mumbai on October 18. Women’s IPL and ICC representative selection are two of the biggest agendas that will be discussed in the meeting.

    However, there won’t be any discussion regarding the appointment of the 5th selector. At this moment, only a four-member selection committee has been dealing with all the matters after Abey Kuruvilla stepped down.

    “Notice is hereby given that the 91st AGM of the BCCI, which will be held at Mumbai on October 18, 2022 to transact the business as per the agenda annexed herewith. The time and venue of the AGM will be informed in due course. The minutes of the 90th AGM, held on December 4, 2021, are attached herewith. Rest of the agenda papers will follow shortly. You are requested to attend the meeting,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah wrote in the notification.

    What’s going to be discussed at BCCI AGM

    Women’s IPL along with BCCI’s ICC representative are two of the main things that’ll be discussed. The members will also decide the future of Sourav Ganguly. Getting a nod from the members will end his tenure as a BCCI president. Election for the BCCI president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary and treasurer are going to be discussed. Cricket Committee and Standing Committee appointments, as well as the creation of an umpires committee. Ombudsman and Ethics officer will be appointed too. Future ICC tournaments in India must receive a total tax rebate, according to ICC, this matter is to be discussed as well. Lastly, a discussion is to be held regarding the appointment of the new Cricket Advisory Committee.

    The BCCI appointed AK Jyothi as the electoral officer and she’s expected to send the election notifications in t=due course. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah will be sending the AGM notification next week. As per reports, Jay SHah has maximum chances to retain his position but the same thing cannot be said about president Sourav Ganguly.

    Brijesh Patel is going to be the next representative of BCCI while Anirudh Chaudhary is expected to be the treasurer. Rajeev Shukla is likely to reclaim the IPL Chairman’s position.
