The 17th April WWE Raw episode saw Adam Pearce announcing the face-off between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar. Following, Lesnae’s confrontation with Rhodes on stage, the announcement came as Rhodes hoped making it official would restrict Rhodes from attacking Lesnar. However, even after the announcement, Rhodes prepared to attack Lesnar, and the security guards prevented him from taking action.
Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar: why did the latter start a feud?
In this week’s SmackDown episode, a surprising revelation came from Wade Barrett about Lesnar’s attack on Cody Rhodes. Talking about Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar, Barrett states the fact that Lesnar’s match with Omos started the show, but Rhodes was granted the main event spot, which infuriated Lesnar.
It’s still not clear who discovered this reasoning but it has received wide criticism as an insane and illogical motive behind such a brutal confrontation. Many speculations are on regarding who made the decision, whether Vince McMahon or Triple H. Irrespective of who’s possible, the same has been acclaimed as a poor judgment call.
There are interesting pointers on Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar. Their feud kicked off on Raw after WrestleMania 39. They’re planning to collaborate in the main event against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, but the situation seems to have taken a reverse turn.
At WrestleMania, Rhodes had an unsuccessful challenge against Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. He put the blame on Sikoa for his loss and demanded to have his paycheck back.
Reign’s refusal to an immediate game
Reigns had initially refused to let Rhodes have an immediate rematch. However, later, he agreed to play along with the tag team match. Lesnar then tried his ways to partner up with Rhodes, super motivated by his initial conflicts with Reigns and Paul Heyman.
As an outcome, there was excitement and tension during the game, and the budding antipathy between the two stars took a little time to move to the center stage.
