This is the second major outage since late June, when users experienced a brief outage on Amazon platform (including Alexa and Prime Video) before the service resumed.

Amazon said its online store resumed normal service after a global power outage disrupted purchases on its national website.

According to the outage monitoring website Downdetector, the service was interrupted for almost two hours. At the peak of the outage, more than 38,000 user reports indicated problems with Amazon’s online store. They occur on Sunday nights in the United States and Monday mornings in most other parts of the world.

“Some customers may experience temporary problems when shopping. We have solved this problem and now everything is fine,” said an Amazon spokesperson.
