Xbox will be present at Gamescom 2022, Microsoft announced Wednesday, to showcase the community there. Additionally, it sounds as though there will be some news items on current games.

It’s unclear what Microsoft has in mind for current games, but given that they put a lot of emphasis on those during not-E3 2022, they may be talking about games that will be released in the first half of 2023.

If so, Xbox gamers should anticipate news on the first-party titles Redfall by Arkane, Starfield by Bethesda, Forza Motorsport by Turn 10 and Blackbird, Obsidian’s Pentiment, and Ara: History Untold by Oxide Games.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that updates for other games that have been announced, such as Obsidian’s Avowed or Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, are automatically ruled out. Third-party Xbox titles like Scorn by Ebb Software, Ark 2 by Studio Wildcard, and STALKER 2 by GSC Game World may also make an appearance.

Activision Blizzard, Sony, and Nintendo won’t be present at Gamescom 2022. That said, over 500 businesses, including 2K, 505 Games, Aerosoft, AMD, Bandai Namco, Daedalic Entertainment, HoyoVerse, Kalypso, Koch Media, Level Infinite (Tencent), Neowiz, NetEase, Raw Fury, SEGA, TaleWorlds Entertainment, Team17, THQ Nordic, Thunderful, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros. Games, have already registered for the convention.
