Former Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez is currently coaching Qatar side, Al Sadd. He is seen as a potential coach and is expected to over at Camp Nou one day. But sadly, he has turned down Barcelona twice in the last few years.

Xavi Hernandez has now revealed the reason why he has turned down Barcelona twice, but he still hopes to take charge in Barcelona one day.

He told La Vanguardia: “Fortunately or unfortunately I have said no to Barcelona twice, due to different circumstances, family, professional, contractual… And of course it was very difficult because I am a Barcelona fan, but it was not the [right] time.”

The World Cup winner added: “Whatever comes will come, it will be evaluated and we will decide. [Offers] arrived years ago, but it was not the time. Barcelona came and it was not the time. There is no hurry. Xabi Alonso said the other day that he wants to coach in his own way and I can relate to that.”

Barcelona are currently in a transition phase. Currently elected president Joan Laporta is trying to build the club once again. He has trusted Ronald Koeman to take the team forward and seems to have convinced Messi to stay at Camp Nou. They have also made 3 new signings – Aguero, Eric Garcia and Emerson.
