Wrexham has declared a second pre-season friendly in the United States to take on Todd Boehly’s Chelsea in North Carolina. It’s scheduled for July 19th. The Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-owned Welsh side will be going against the Premier League side in Chapel Hill, scheduled at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan stadium. It can host 50,000 visitors.
Wrexham’s first game against Chelsea coming up in July
Wrexham will be having his first game against Chelsea. Wrexham has already got a schedule to play Manchester United on 25th July in San Diego, California.
In his Thursday statement, Wrexham stated that the team has ideas to declare two other games in the United States, one more on both the East and West coasts. The season has been griping so far, and Welsh is on the cards for promotion to the fourth tier of English soccer.
For Chelsea and Boehly, things worsened in 2022-23. It spends $700m on new players. Following a terrible display in the Premier League, coach Graham Potter was sacked, and Frank Lampard, the club legend, was appointed as the interim coach until the season concludes.
Chelsea is at number 11 at present in the Premier League table, and Real Madrid eliminated them this week.
For American soccer fans, it’ll be exciting. They will hope that United States star Christian Pulisic plays with Chelsea for the Wrexham game.
