    The secretary of the BCCI, Jay Shah has expressed his faith and immense confidence on the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL), stat ing that the tournament will bring a revolution in Women’s cricket. Accroding to Jay Shah, the Women’s Premier League will not only help in gardening a massive success in multiple aspects, but people will also see a major revolution in this game among women.

    Jay Shah said in this regard that the WPL will set a statement for other sports to follow suit. He could hardly contain his excitement as he went on to explain that the BCCI was immensely proud as well as delighted to have not only thought but also plan out, ensuring the WPL actually is conducted well. Hence it has taken it upon itself for creating a template in the sporting world, and this will make the other boards follow BCCI eventually.

    He said that the WPL is going to revolutionise the way everyone looks at women’s cricket. The WPL auction has been a great success which has not only given an opportunity to to several prospective talents for showcasing their skills, but also the young bloods will get to play some good cricket in a global level.

    When will the WPL start?

    The much awaited inaugural season, i.e., the WPL will go on from 4th March to 26th, in Mumbai. The tournament will start with the clash between the Gujarat Giants and the Mumbai-owned franchise, and all games will take place at the Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium.

    Several Indian as well as foreign women cricketers are very much are eager to play the tournament, and indeed it will be a banger for sure. Earlier, womens’ matches used to take place in between the Men’s IPL, with 3 teams, but this time, it has been organized on a greater perspective in the form of a tournament with 5 teams.
