Early life
Nayanthara was born Diana Mariam Kurian on November 18, 1984, in Bangalore, Karnataka, to a Malayali Christian family. She studied at the Holy Angels Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Bangalore. She began her career as a model and appeared in several commercials and music videos.
Acting career
Nayanthara made her acting debut with the Malayalam film Manassinakkare (2003). She made her debut in Tamil cinema with Ayya (2005) and in Telugu cinema with Lakshmi (2006). She went on to establish herself with successful women-centric films including Anaamika (2014), Maya (2015), Kolamavu Kokila (2018), Airaa (2019) and Netrikann (2022).
