Finally, CD Projekt Red has provided a precise release date for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next-generation update. When it was first released in 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received overwhelmingly positive reviews and is now regarded as one of the best video games ever created.
However, in the seven years after The Witcher 3’s first release, far more potent video game consoles and gaming PCs have become accessible, and the next-gen upgrade should allow it fully utilize the most recent technology.
Fans of the series have had to wait quite a while to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next-gen update since it was first revealed in 2020. The Witcher 3’s next-generation update will enhance the game’s functionality and even add some fresh content inspired by the Netflix series. The upgrade to The Witcher 3 for the next generation is free for existing owners.
The Witcher 3 next-generation update will debut on December 14th.
For a gameplay reveal the following week, Witcher fans should visit CD Projekt Red’s official Twitch channel. Although there haven’t been any gameplay videos released as of yet, the tweet did provide a screenshot that demonstrates the enhanced lighting that will be available in The Witcher 3’s next-gen update when it goes live next month.
Beyond the next-gen update for The Witcher 3, there is a lot more to look forward to for Witcher enthusiasts. The creation of various Witcher games, including a remake of the first Witcher game and an original game by Molasses Flood, was recently announced by CD Projekt Red.
At the time of writing, more details on those projects aren’t accessible, but they represent just the beginning of the new Witcher material that will soon be released.
