Netflix’s another exciting take on the novel. Scripted by Neil Gaiman, the Sandman narrates a tale of a conversation between God and man.
In 2019, Netflix signed a deal to bring Neil Gaiman‘s words to the small screen.
About the Show ‘The Sandman’
In accordance with Gaiman’s official website, The Sandman is about “a wizard attempting to capture Death to bargain for eternal life traps her younger brother Dream instead.”
“Fearful for his safety, the wizard kept him imprisoned in a glass bottle for decades. After his escape, Dream, also known as Morpheus, goes on a quest for his lost objects of power.”
The Approval of the Show Seems to Have Went Through Some Serious Considerations
According to Gaiman, he feared potential failures in the show’s production, so he took his time to approve the project.
“I didn’t have faith that we’d always get here, but I had faith that the important thing was to stop bad versions being made,” stated the author of The Sandman.
“Once a bad version is made, you never quite come back from that. It may sound silly, but when I was 14 or 15, my favorite comic was Howard The Duck.”
“And then A New Breed Of Hero came out. Howard The Duck became a bad joke. I never wanted that to happen to Sandman, and I saw scripts that would have made that happen,” mentioned Gaiman to Total Film.
How Long Will It be Before it is Released to the Public?
Sandman will premiere on August 5, 2022, as stated by Netflix. The long waiting from the fans to see one of the most recently hyped shows on Netflix is nearly over. A few days more, and the audience will be able to endeavor “The Sandman”.
