    BCCI & Sachin Tendulkar felicitates the Indian Women’s team for their U19 World Cup victory

    Sachin Tendulkar, the Indian Cricket legend, felicitates the Indian U19 Women’s team, who emerged as the champions in ICC T20 Women’s World Cup. The ceremony took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where the winning team, including the support staff, was rewarded with prize money of 5 crores.

    BCCI secretary Jay Shah made it official that the winning team will be present on Wednesday evening at the ground to watch the game. There the new winners will be felicitated and rewarded for their remarkable victory and latest achievement. Sachin Tendulkar will also join the BCCI officials. Shah took to his social media handle to convey the message.

    Earlier, following India’s win in the finals, Jay Shah announced that the achievers would be rewarded with 5 crores and felicitated by Sachin Tendulkar too.

    Shah took to his Twitter handle to congratulate team India on their great achievement. He wrote, 

    Women’s cricket in India is on the upswing, and the World Cup triumph has taken the stature of women’s cricket several notches higher. I am delighted to announce INR 5 crore for the entire team and support staff as prize money. This is surely a path-breaking year.” 

    Shah even invited the champions to watch the series decider between India and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday. He even added that this new height calls for a celebration.

    India vs New Zealand third T20

    In the series decider at Ahmedabad, India snatched a whopping 168-run victory over the Kiwis as Shubhman Gill smashed his first International T20 ton. It helped India put over a stunning 234 runs on the board, and the visitors could only manage to get to 66.
