The Resident Evil showcase included a gung-ho launch trailer for the long-delayed online multiplayer expansion for Resident Evil Village called Re: Verse, which will be released on October 28. It also addressed some of our questions about the DLC for Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Re: Verse is a two- to the six-player third-person shooter in which players assume the roles of numerous Resident Evil characters and compete in five-minute deathmatches to gain points for kills. You have the choice to resurrect as one of the terrifying villains from the series if you die. Additionally, a practice mode with bots is available offline.

Unavoidably, after launch, more characters and levels will be added, along with a battle pass. You’ll be able to take on the roles of Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Ada Wong, and HUNK, the most skilled agent employed by Umbrella when the game is released. You can become better monsters after you die by gathering virus samples throughout the map—the Raccoon City Police Department and Baker House will be there at launch—ranging from RE7’s bloated Fat Molded up to Hunter Gamma, Jack Baker, Nemesis, and a Super Tyrant.

The roadmap states that the first post-launch update for Re: Verse would provide 30 extra levels to its battle pass, a new map, eight costumes, and another survivor. The third update also adds a creature and 30 new stages to the combat pass, and subsequent releases will each bring an additional survivor, difficulty level, and wardrobe.

Everyone who has Resident Evil Village can play Re: Verse, which supports cross-platform play. The early access window runs from October 23 at 7 p.m. Pacific Time to October 25 at 11 p.m. Pacific Time. Accordingly, it starts on October 24 at 3 AM BST / 1 PM AEST in the UK and Australia and finishes on October 26 at 7 AM BST / 5 PM AEST.
