Paris Saint-Germain have earned a reputation for sacking coaches over the years. The French champions have been relentless in their pursuit of the Champions League. But, it continues to evade them to this day.

The Qatari era for the club has not only meant that they have spent a crazy amount on player signings, but also on coaches. And in particular, on severance packages for these managers.

Mauricio Pochettino became the most recent addition to the list, being paid around €10 million as he was replaced by Christophe Galtier.

Unai Emery remains one of the only managers under the Qatari ownership to have seen out his contract. He wasn’t sacked, he simply didn’t renew with the club and then went on to the Premier League with Arsenal.

French icon Laurent Blanc was sacked, however, in 2017. Given the fact that he had only just renewed his contract and he had two seasons left, he had to be paid over €20 million in severance.

The man that led the club to their only Champions League final two years ago, Thomas Tuchel, was also sacked prior to the end of his deal. The German coach was paid around €7 million before he went on to win the Champions League trophy with Chelsea only one year later.
