The string of high profile moves to the Saudi Arabian league continues. Now, the Brazilian star Neymar Jr joins the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema joining the league and signing a contract with Al Hilal.
Hopes shatter as Neymar couldn’t be brought back to Barcelona; joins Al Hilal in a star studded league of the Middle East
Neymar has joined the club in one of the costliest transfers in recent times. He underwent a medical test on Monday, following which he officially has been a member of the club for two years now. Recently, there was much speculation about his return to Barcelona and fans were thrilled for the much anticipated decision.
However, given the financial constraints of Barcelona the reunion hopes between Barcelona and Neymar couldn’t be made realistic and the former PSG star moved to Al Hilal to join the likes of big names who have already registered themselves in the Saudi Arabian league.
His transfer is an inclusion of PSG’s reshuffle, which also saw Messi’s move to Beckham’s Inter Miami. Neymar still had three years remaining on his €25 million-a-year contract at PSG. Reportedly, the Ligue 1 champions are ready to receive an amount near 100 m euros.
Earlier, the French club has made the Brazilian ensure the costliest transfer ever, signing him for a whopping 222 million euros from Barcelona.
Neymar was not in PSG ‘s future plans
PSG had made it clear earlier that he was not included in their future plans under Luis Enrique’s leadership. They’re more looking for a different approach: speed and age wise that might differ from the Brazilian’s current age and perspective towards the game’s method.
Initially, it was Enrique who watered the famous MSN- Messi, Suarez, Neymar: the terrific trio at Barcelona. But,b now the Spaniard has hardly any plans for Neymar given their Galacticos approach for the game.
In his five year stay with PSG, he has contributed to 13 trophies in his 176 appearances. The trophies include five Ligue 1 championships, and being the runners up in the 2020 Champions League finals. However, the star has often been faced with injuries in his tenure at PSG. Earlier this year, even his fans lost their patience, gathered in front of his house and protested earlier this year.
The Saudi Exodus goes on
His move to Saudi Arabia is the latest costliest and high profile transfer in the Middle East. Figures like Ronaldo, Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Sadio Mane, Ruben Naves have joined the league. Now here’s another spark with Neymar joining Al Hilal.
Naves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Kalidou Koulibally have moved to Al Hilal this summer besides Neymar.
Now, this latest move might disappoint the ones who expected a Barcelona and Neymar reunion. But, this new journey will be exciting to watch. It’s time to see Neymar’s magic again and how he contributed to his new club!
