Michael Jordan, considered to be one of the best to have played basketball, has a prolific fanbase. Thanks to his glittering contribution and amazing playing career, he’s one of the best names in the sport today. One of the greatest of all time, the NBA star’s competitive attitude is a must in his legacy.
An interesting fact about him is the Chicago Bulls legend has a tattoo that fans haven’t ever seen. He has always avoided showing it in public.
However, Sam Smith, author of ‘The Jordan Rules’, revealed that Jordan’s secret tattoo is inked just above his left breast.
Michael Jordan and his secret tattoo: what does his tattoo signify?
“Little known is he has a tattoo, an omega horseshoe above his left breast that he always was a bit sensitive about.
He also had developed this habit of sticking his tongue out when he played ball, something his father did when he was working on cars back home, a hobby of James’. The other kids made fun of Michael for the gesture.”
There was one time when Michael Jordan revealed the tattoo, and it was for Bob Greene’s 1995 book ‘Rebound: The Odyssey of Michael Jordan.’ Here, he features shirtless on the cover.
As per writer Ashish Mathur’s claim, the tattoo has to do something with a fraternity that he associated with when he was at the University Of North Carolina.
What did Mathur write?
“Jordan has a small tattoo above his left breast. It’s an omega horseshoe, and it was drawn on as a way of pledging his commitment to the Black fraternity Omega Psi Phi, which he was a part of while he attended the University of North Carolina.”
