With the release of Portal RTX, fans were able to begin working on additional remasters using RTX Remix. Among these projects is Max Payne With RTX, which appears to be progressing well based on some new screenshots released online.

The latest screenshots, released on Twitter by the project’s developer @Acoulte93, highlight the project’s excellent lighting enhancements. Unfortunately, developers still don’t have access to the AI Texture Super Resolution tool, so the textures haven’t been enhanced, but even with the old ones, the project is looking fantastic.

Remedy will develop the Max Payne remakes as a single title for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S using its proprietary Northlight game engine. The game’s development budget will be financed by Rockstar Games, the size of which will be in line with a typical Remedy AAA-game production. Under the agreement, Remedy has a royalty opportunity after Rockstar Games has recouped its development, marketing, and other costs for distributing and publishing the game.

While production on Max Payne continues, Remedy Entertainment, the developer of the Alan Wake series and Control, is presently working on remakes of Rockstar Games’ first and second instalments in the series with RTX. The two games will be combined into one and powered by the studio’s own Northlight gaming engine. The remake will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S at a later date.
