Amid the Premier League relegation battle, Leeds United seem to be taking a serious look at their manager Javi Gracia. According to reports, former Birmingham City boss Lee Bowyer is considered a suitable alternative for Leeds’ remaining games to keep them going.

Lee Bowyer considered a suitable alternative for Leeds’ remaining games

Under Gracia, Leeds has managed three wins in 12 games. He was appointed close to two months ago. They had five losses in their previous seven games, and their form has left them on the verge of relegation with just four more matches to play.

The not-so-good form has left Gracia in trouble putting his job in question, and Leeds is looking for a quick managerial alternative. It would be the third for them this season, as they hope this might change the current situation in the team’s form.

Lee Bowyer has been out of work ever since he left Blues in Summer 2022. He helped them stick to their championship status for two campaigns straight. He played for Leeds between 1996 and 2003, and the club reached the semifinals in 2001.

What did Bowyer say earlier this year?

Speaking to talkSPORT earlier this year, Lee Bower said,

“I’ve been out to my lake in France doing a bit of maintenance. On the football side of things, I’m waiting. I’m waiting for the right job to come along because I love football, and I love passing on my knowledge. I’ve worked with top players; I worked against top players, and against top managers. I’ve learned a lot, and I want to keep passing it on and improving players.”

According to Daily Mail, Lee Bowyer might be getting a call soon with Leeds’ remaining games up against Manchester City, Newcastle, West Ham and Tottenham.
