    Indian Adaptation of the Ongoing Israeli Show, ‘The Hood’ is in the Making

    The story of ‘The Hood’ follows children in a small slum in the heart of a wealthy settlement, examining the differences and problems between the rich and the poor.

    On Tuesday, Abundantia Entertainment announced a Hindi remake of the popular Israeli series ‘The Hood’. Israeli media company Ananey Studios, owned by Paramount Global, has signed a deal with Abundantia to develop the Indian adaptation, according to a press release.

    The teen drama series is produced by Filters, the young adult content division of Production Banner. The original show, called Shchuna in Israel, was created by Giora Chamizer. The plot follows small slum children in the heart of a wealthy settlement, examining the differences and problems between the rich and the poor.

    Paramount Israel’s CEO, Orly Atlas Katz said the company is excited about the Indian version of The Hood, one of Israel’s most successful and popular teen dramas.

The Hood joins a list of Ananey studio titles that have reached viewers all over the world and we are thrilled to bring our content to Asia as well with this deal,” added the CEO.

    Abundantia recently launched two new branches, Psych, and Filters, focusing on segments and genres with high growth and potential. Under the Filters label, Production Banner is also working on Indian versions of the Israeli youth dramas ‘The Missing’ and ‘Along Came a Spyder’, based on the young-adult book of the same title by author Apeksha Rao.

    Upcoming production banner titles include ‘Hush Hush’, a series starring Juhi Chawla, and ‘The End’, Akshay Kumar’s OTT show debut.
