Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul created a big record on Sunday, playing against Pakistan. The match took place in Dubai’s International stadium where the Indian batters scored a fifty for the first wicket and now they have the most fifty-plus run strands in T20I cricket history.
The Indian captain hit 2 sixes and 3 boundaries for his 16-ball 28 while KL Rahul smashed 28 off 20 balls.
They achieved this feat during the Super Four clash against Pakistan at Asia Cup 2022, this Sunday. They mustered together 54 runs in just 31 deliveries before Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 28 runs off 16 balls by Harid Rauf. Together, the duo has 14 fifty-plus stands in T20I cricket. Nine are fifty-run stands while five are hundred-run stands. The next on line are the Irish duo Kevin O’Brien and Paul Stirling who have 13 such partnerships with three 100-run stands and 10 fifty-run stands.
