India vs Pakistan: Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul created a huge record; Virat now has now the most 50-plus cores in T20I cricket

    Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul created a big record on Sunday, playing against Pakistan. The match took place in Dubai’s International stadium where the Indian batters scored a fifty for the first wicket and now they have the most fifty-plus run strands in T20I cricket history.

    The Indian captain hit 2 sixes and 3 boundaries for his 16-ball 28 while KL Rahul smashed 28 off 20 balls.

    They achieved this feat during the Super Four clash against Pakistan at Asia Cup 2022, this Sunday. They mustered together 54 runs in just 31 deliveries before Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 28 runs off 16 balls by Harid Rauf. Together, the duo has 14 fifty-plus stands in T20I cricket. Nine are fifty-run stands while five are hundred-run stands. The next on line are the Irish duo Kevin O’Brien and Paul Stirling who have 13 such partnerships with three 100-run stands and 10 fifty-run stands.

    After the Indian openers got out, Rishabh Pant couldn’t create a very good impact and got dismissed quickly. It was a major blow for India when Hardik Pandya got out for a two-ball duck. Virat Kohli who’s been out of the form for some time surprisingly played well and scored 60 runs in 44 balls. Fans were finally happy with his comeback and he smashed his half-century in a row. He created a brand new recorded of most 50+ scored in T20I history. It was indeed special since it came against Pakistan. His batting helped the team post a total of 181/7.
