The head coach of the Indian football team, Igor Stimac will remain in his position till 2023, as he signed a contract extension till the end of the next year’s Asian AFC Cup. The technical committee of the AIFF i.e., the All Indian Football Federation primarily recommended this decision of extending the contract last month, and the executive committee also accepted this suggestion that India should certainly make it to the Asian Cup’s quarterfinals, and for that reason, the head coach of the team should automatically be rewarded, and what better way to extend his contract with the team!
Igor Stimac in this regard
Igor Stimac in this regard said that he is delighted that the AIFF has placed trust in the process that they have put in. Stimac added that he and his team had a very good run in the qualifiers and want to ensure that they keep building themselves up till the Asian Cup and eventually provide a good account of themselves in the continental stage.
The Croatian being effective in his performance
Igor Stimac is currently 55 years old, and the Croatian has indeed been doing well for the Blue Tigers since 2019. He has successfully guided the Indian football team to its second successive Asian AFC qualification this year only, were the men in blue topped Group D in the third-round qualifiers.
Igor Stimac also said that, at present, they had ensured qualification, and they must make sure that they keep improving and find their best combination till the Asian Cup. Also, it is certainly not an easy process and there will be several pain on the way, but if they stick to the proper plan and execution and doge shortcuts, making it to the knockout rounds can be done indeed.
