The ICC T20 World Cup is set to go in October, with some mouthwatering games coming on the way. There will be two groups, considered as super twelve, with 6 teams each on the group. Also, 4 teams will join this super 12, from the qualifying round. Also, we will again see the epic clash in between India and Pakistan after a long time, where they have been clubbed together in group 2.

T20 World Cup: Selection of the teams
The 2 groups are selected based on the ranking of the teams as of March 20th, 2021. The defending champions of the tournament, West Indies will lock horns with the former champions England, South Africa, and Australia in group 1. Also, two teams from the qualifier round will join them.
Group 2 will see the clash between India and Pakistan, along with Kane Williamson’s New Zealand, and Afghanistan. Also, another 2 teams from the qualifying round will join them.
From this, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have automatically qualified via the ICC Men’s T20 WC qualifier of 2019. Netherlands, Ireland, and Namibia will go face to face with Sri Lanka in group A, whereas, in group B, Bangladesh will face Scotland, PNG, and Oman.
Sourav Ganguly’s Statement
The current BCCI president and former captain of India, Sourav Ganguly said that it seems very good to get Oman in the world cricket’s frame, and it is great that they are hosting the T20 World Cup. With the stepping of Oman in International cricket, it will inspire a lot of players in the game. The teams will give us a world-class presentation in this tournament.
