    ICC answers as Indian cricketers are unhappy with SCG Hospitality

    The International Cricket Council (ICC) has replied back to Team India’s criticism od cold food and poor hospitality at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The Indian Cricket Team is in Sydney right now to play against the Netherlands on Thursday. The players had an optional training session at the ground on Tuesday. Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul were the attendees. The men in blue had to boycott the lunch after it was served “cold and inadequate” food.

    “Yes, the Indian team has told us about their issues with the food after practice. We are trying to figure it out and the issue will be sorted. The food was not up to the mark. We can’t have a sandwich after a practice session.” a member of the Indian squad told the news agency PTI.

    The menu had fruits, falafel, and ‘make your own sandwich. The Indian players boycotted lunch at the SCG and talked to the concerned officials after the practice on Tuesday. The Indians had an optional training session at the Sydney Cricket Ground where they were given to eat fruits, falafel, and ‘make your sandwich’ for lunch after practice.

    The Indians were not very happy with the food items served and raised a complaint. Some players had the falafel at the ground itself, others had the food back at the hotel.

    The team consisted of captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, and Deepak Hooda, along with the support staff. R Ashwin and Hardik Pandya were under complete rest. The fast bowlers will be back in action without any practice.

    The Indian squad also began their T20 World Cup campaign with the last-ball win against the arch-rivals Pakistan. They will face the Netherlands at SCG on October 28.
