Gujarat Titans have emerged victoriously in their second match in the Indian Premier League, by beating Delhi Capitals by 14 runs. Credit goes to the performances of Shubman Gill who played a terrific knock of 86, and also Lockie Ferguson for picking up 4 wickets. After Rajasthan Royals, they are the second team of IPL15 to win both their starting 2 matches. Here are 3 factors that led GT to gain a flawless victory, against the Capitals.
Classic knock by Shubman Gill
Though none of the GT batsmen could score much, it was because of Shubman Gill, that the Titans were able to reach a good score of 171 with the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Gill played a classic knock of 84 from 46 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes with a strike rate of 182.61.

Lockie Ferguson’s 4 wicket haul for Gujarat Titans
GT has been phenomenal in their bowling, especially New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson who picked up 4 wickets in 4 overs conceding 28 runs. Alongside him, Mohammed Shami also picked up 2 wickets and Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan picked up 1 wicket each.
Delhi Capitals unable to build up a partnership
Though a target of 172 is very much attainable in the modern days of T20 cricket, unfortunately, the impressive bowling by Gujarat Titans didn’t allow the Capitals to do the same. DC’s highest scorer, skipper Rishabh Pant scored 43 of 29 balls with 7 fours, but no one was with him for long, and eventually, they were unable to build a partnership. Lalit Yadav stayed for some time, scoring 25 of 22, and so did Rovman Powell, scoring 20 of 12, but they got out soon, without playing a long or an impactful inning.
