This weekend, Mind factory unveiled a page full of special offers, one of Germany’s most well-known online computer merchants. It includes AMD partner graphics cards on sale for less than the MSRP. This is terrific news, but before you start fantasising about GPU upgrades and playing the latest PC games in 4K with real-time raytracing, keep in mind that both of these sub-MSRP delights are AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT designs.
The RX 6500 XT versions’ stocks are in good shape. According to the screenshot, 58 of the €199 ASRock ITX models and 32 of the €229 ASRock ITX variants are available. So they’re not exactly jumping off the shelves, which is perhaps why they are the first sub-MSRP graphics cards we’ve seen in a long time.
Two AMD Radeon RX 6500 XTs models are available for purchase on Mindfactory. The ASRock Radeon RX 6500XT Challenger ITX and the Gigabyte Radeon RX 6500 XT Eagle were both €199. However, the Gigabyte model has now gone up to €229. The ASRock Radeon RX 6500 XT Phantom Gaming D OC is the other RX 6500 XT on the Mind factory specials page, priced at €229. The price of this dual-fan variant used to be €249.
To put the prices in perspective, the base model, AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT graphics cards in Germany, cost €209. In addition, Germany charges a 19 per cent VAT, bringing the ASRock ITX model’s price to around €160 before sales tax. Before sales tax, we obtain $182 if we convert this amount to USD.
You might have missed the introduction of two new contenders at the entry-level end of the market if you hadn’t been paying attention to PC graphics cards in 2022. These were, of course, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 and the AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT, which was the subject of our sub-MSRP pricing article.
