Reports state that Barcelona FC had a chance to bring striker Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina for an amount of only 15 million pounds which seems much more affordable, Camp Nou rejected the offer. Dusan Vlahovic is only 29 years old, and he is one of the high demanding young talents of the world and any football club would desire to bring him and plan a long-term deal with the Serbian.
At present Arsenal are much interested as well as desperate to bring Vlahovic into their club and are trying to close a deal of 60 million pounds this month. On the other hand, the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, Juventus, Manchester City, and even Barcelona are readying their moves this summer.
In this summer, the transfers would greatly scramble, and sources state that it is one which Barcelona FC could have avoided if they wanted to pull the trigger two years back in 2020.
Fiorentina was ready to part ways with Dusan Vlahovic
Back in August 2020, Fiorentina was ready o part their ways with the Serbian striker. The young blood was indeed a high rated star from that time only and registered 6 goals in Serie A out of his 30 appearances, which is considered very good for a less experienced player.
Fiorentina was all set to offload Dusan Vlahovic on a long-term loan with a reasonable purchase amount of 15 million pounds and offered the deal to Barcelona, represented by Eric Abidal in the negotiations, and they feared that his poor form towards the end of the 2019/20 campaign might be a took much of risk to him.
They didn’t agree to the mandatory purchase option, concerning the fact that they weren’t fully interested in the Serbian striker and sent his agent back to the Serie A club stating the deal is off.
Performance of the Serbian
Following the rejection of the deal by Barcelona, Dusan Vlahovic scored 21 goals in the Seria A in his 37 Serie A games, and people are often comparing him to the great young talent of Borussia Dortmund, Erling Haaland.
This has also helped Fiorentina rise, and the demand of the Serbian has increased to 60 million, for which Arsenal at present is trying. In the upcoming transfer window, many clubs will go behind this man, and Barcelona might also be the one trying for him as well.
