September has been a very busy month for Apple, as usual. The Apple Watch Ultra and new AirPods Pro were introduced this week after the firm unveiled the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 8, and a new Apple Watch SE last week. Apple launched tvOS 16, watchOS 9, and iOS 16 as software updates.
The iPhone 14 Plus will be available beginning on October 7 in contrast to the September 16 introduction of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 Plus is a brand-new choice in the lineup and will be the first non-Pro model with a sizable 6.7-inch display to ever be released; however, Apple did not give an explanation for the staggered rollout.
Car crash detection, planned support for emergency texting via satellite in the United States and Canada, a longer battery life, improved cameras, and a more repairable design with a detachable back glass panel are some of the key new features of the iPhone 14 Plus. The same A15 Bionic CPU with a five-core GPU seen in the iPhone 13 Pro powers the gadget.
The display size, battery life, weight, and pricing are the only things that separate the larger iPhone 14 Plus from the smaller 6.1-inch iPhone 14.
Apple announced that iOS 16.1 would be made available this year. A number of new features for the iPhone will be included in the software update, including support for Live Activities in third-party apps, a Clean Energy Charging option in the US, support for Matter accessories in the Home app, Apple Fitness+ exercises without an Apple Watch, and more.
iOS 16.1 is expected to launch later this year, although it’s not yet known if it will include features like iCloud Shared Photo Library and the new Freeform digital whiteboard app. Any remaining features for iOS 16.2 have been promised for release in December.
This year will probably be no different from previous years when Apple announces new iPad and Mac models during an event in October. The following event might take place in early October, but the exact date is still uncertain given how early the September event was this year.
Rumors claim that Apple will introduce new iPad Pro versions with the M2 chip at its October event, as well as a revamp of its 10th-generation budget iPad and at least a couple other Macs using the M2 series of processors. By the end of 2022, a new Mac Pro is all but guaranteed, and new MacBook Pro and Mac mini versions are also a possibility.
According to Apple, the general public will be able to download macOS Ventura and iPadOS 16 in October. It’s expected that Apple will reveal the precise release dates for the software updates either at its October event or right after after.
Apple had planned to release iPadOS 16 in September alongside iOS 16, but instead decided to wait until October to focus on improving Stage Manager in response to user complaints about the feature’s multiple drawbacks. Instead of being called iPadOS 16.0, Apple announced the software upgrade will be called iPadOS 16.1.
Apple announced that it has purchased the classical music streaming provider Primephonic in August 2021. Apple announced at the time that it intended to release a specific classical music app in 2022 that would incorporate Primephonic’s user interface and additional functionality.
