More significant announcements than ever before were made at TennoCon 2022 thanks to Digital Extremes’ announcement of a new relationship with Airship Syndicate to support the development of their brand-new, F2P original IP. Indie art and development studio Airship Syndicate introduced the project to Warframe players during TennoLive and gave viewers a brief glimpse into the world they are creating.
The project is led by creative leads known for their collective work on the critically acclaimed Darksiders franchise and Ruined King: A League of Legends Story.
“I signed Darksiders at THQ and I’ve been trying to work with Joe and Ryan ever since, our reunion is a decade in the making, and couldn’t be happier for Airship Syndicate and this opportunity for them to shine,” said Richard Browne, Head of External Projects at Digital Extremes.
The booming Austin, Texas-based Airship Syndicate was established by seasoned business people who previously worked for Vigil Games, the studio where Darksiders was developed. The team is led by creative comic book creators Joe Madureira and President Ryan Stefanelli, and they collaborate with a large number of gifted contributors who are based both in-studio and all around the world. Battle Chasers: Nightwar, Darksiders: Genesis, and Ruined King: A League of Legends Story are a few of their previous works.
“We’re a group of passionate, experienced game developers based in Austin, Texas. Our goal is simple: build a lean, fun, independent game studio to create top-quality games for a variety of gaming platforms,” said Ryan Stefanelli, President of Airship Studios.
