The Women’s Cricket Festival starts in India which huge grandeur, with the first-ever match of the Women’s Premier League being an absolute banger. With Viacom buying the rights to the biggest cricket show in India, the tournament is telecasted live on Sports 18.

The Twitter handle of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) disclosed the news on social media that it would be telecasted and streamed on Sports 18 and Jio Cinema, respectively. As Viacom won the broadcasting rights of the inaugural TATA Women’s Premier League, Jio Cinema, the official OTT platform of the company, bagged the live streaming rights of TATA WPL in India. As mentioned, fans can watch either on the app or on the website, and most importantly, users can see the matches for free without even registering.
The first match
The first match of the Women’s Premier League was an absolute banger. Indeed, signifying how the rest of the tournament will be. Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants locked horns, where the former batted first and set a score of 207 for the loss of 5 wickets. It was certainly not the day of the Giants, as they got all out within 64 at their time.
Though the Indians got a huge boost in the inaugural WPL match, it is likely to affect their performance in a positive aspect in their upcoming matches. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur received the player of the match award for her explosive inning of 65 of 30, consisting of 14 fours.
