Creative Assembly revealed the Total War: Warhammer 3 roadmap in May. Shadows of Change, set for release in the summer of 2023, will bring new legendary lords and units to Tzeentch, Cathay, and Kislev. The Cathayan lord has now been identified as Yuan Bo, the Jade Dragon, thanks to a brief narrative distributed by CA.
Yuan Bo is the regent of Central Cathay, and he appears to be an ordinary bureaucrat. However, he, like his siblings, can turn into an actual dragon and serves as both Cathay’s executioner and administrator, so he should not be underestimated. The short narrative also introduces his aerial assassins, the Onyx Crowmen, who would probably be a unit in the Jade Dragon’s army.
Given the title of the new Warhammer 3 DLC, the Tzeentchian legendary king it introduces was always going to be The Changeling, a shape-shifting trickster.
However, we still don’t know who will be added to the Kislevite roster. Mother Ostankya, a hag mother who is essentially Baba Yaga, is the current favorite.
Warhammer 3 Patch 4.0 will be released alongside the DLC, adding a free legendary hero and achievements to the Immortal Empires campaign. Immortal Empires will also be materialized, with a series of objectives to guide players through the early rounds, and additional iconic buildings will be added around the map, according to a recent blog post. A new slider will also be introduced to the fight difficulty settings to allow players to manage the AI’s stat enhancements.
