India defeated Scotland in their 4th match at the T20 World Cup in the Dubai International Stadium. It was a dominant performance by team India, where they kept their hopes alive for the qualification to the finals. Though it is a tough equation for the Men in Blues to achieve the goal, however in t20 format nothing seems to be impossible enough. India picked up their win by 8 wickets in hand with 81 balls left.
The match
After a long time, the captain of the Indian team, Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to field first. They got Scotland all out at the score of 85 in 17.4 overs. Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja picked up three wickets in three and four overs respectively, conceding 15 runs. With the target very easy to chase down India had to chase the score of 86 in just 43 balls for keeping their run rate high.
Indian openers came to bat including Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul and both of them gave a magnificent start to the team. Hitman scored 30 runs and Rahul’s fast 50 helped them to reach their total in just 6.3 overs, i.e., 39 balls.
Performance by Team India
It was indeed a remarkable performance by team India, where KL Rahul scored the fastest half-century of the season. This t20 world cup has been a tournament of low scores but India seems to put an opposite impression on that. Also, bowlers did a good job with 4 out of 5 used bowlers picking up wickets.
The match ended with a last-ball six which came from the bat of Suryakumar Yadav. India has still hopes left to get to the finals of the tournament which hugely depends on the Afghanistan versus New Zealand match on Sunday. India will only be alive here if Afghanistan defeats New Zealand which seems quite impossible.
