The Spanish Super Cup, also known as the Supercopa de Espana is a Super Cup tournament, originally played between the two winners of La Liga and Copa del Rey. It was founded in 1982.
But the Spanish Super Cup was modified in 2019–20 and since then it is played between four teams – the winners and runners-up of La Liga and the winners and runners-up of the Copa del Rey.
The four teams which will contest for the Spanish Super Cup 2021-22 are:
- Atletico Madrid (La Liga winners)
- Real Madrid (La Liga runners-up)
- Barcelona (Copa del Rey winners)
- Athletic Bilbao (Copa del Rey runners-up)
The draws for the Spanish Super Cup 2021-22 has been officially declared:
- Barcelona vs Real Madrid
- Atletico Madrid vs Athletic Bilbao
The Spanish Super Cup 2021-22 matches will be played in January 2022. Athletic Bilbao are the current holders of the trophy as they beat Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup 2020-21 final.
