To ensure that your personal data on your Galaxy smartphone is secure even when the repair expert is working on it, South Korean technology giant Samsung has introduced a new feature called Repair Mode to its Galaxy handsets.

According to SamMobile, the Samsung Repair Mode enables customers to decide which information they want to selectively expose when their phone is being repaired.

Users are constantly worried that when they send their devices in for repair, their personal information will be stolen or disclosed.

The smartphone reboots after Repair Mode is selected in the Settings menu under the Battery and Device Care section.

After that, only the default apps will be accessible and no one will be able to access your data, including images, texts, accounts, etc. The user must reboot the device and authenticate using their fingerprint or pattern recognition in order to escape Repair Mode.

The press post states that Samsung Repair Mode would be added to the Galaxy S21 series phones via an update and eventually extended to further models. The feature should soon be available in other regions as well. It will be available in South Korea.
